NY-GPS is a coalition that is committed to turning around the direction of school reform in New York City schools. In April of 2012, when StudentsFirstNY announced its intention to raise and spend $50 million dollars lobbying to continue the Bloomberg education polices that have failed our kids for more than a decade, NY-GPS formed to provide a voice for parents, students and communities. NY-GPS is advocating for a shift in education policy towards collaboration instead of competition, college and career prep instead of test prep, research-backed education strategies instead of experimental ones, teaching and learning rather than privatization, and an education agenda that serves all NYC students, not just some of them.
