As millions of Black and Brown New Yorkers struggle to recover from the economic effects of the pandemic, Governor Cuomo is refusing to tax his rich friends. Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie have taken bold action to tax the wealthy few to fund essential needs for millions, but Cuomo insists that no new sources of revenue are needed.
 
With just hours left until the state budget deadline, New York’s students, families and educators are depending on the New York State Senate and Assembly to stay strong in budget negotiations with the Governor. With a veto-proof majority in both the Assembly and Senate, we must urge our State Legislators to fight to raise $7 billion in revenue and fully fund our schools in the final budget.
